Christie Pal Pleads the Fifth at Bridge Hearing, Not Really His Pal Anyway

New Jersey lawmakers voted to hold David Wildstein, Chris Christie’s old friend (allegedly) and former appointee to the Port Authority, in contempt today after he refused to testify in front of a State Assembly committee investigating the mess at the George Washington Bridge. Wildstein, who has already resigned in the scandal, was the one who responded “Got it” when Governor Christie’s since-fired deputy chief of staff decided it was, “Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.”

Earlier, during his epic apology performance, Christie attempted to distance himself from Wildstein. “David and I were not friends in high school. We were not even acquaintances in high school,” said the governor. “We didn’t travel in the same circles in high school. You know, I was the class president and athlete. I don’t know what David was doing during that period of time.”
