In case the 911 call, in which George Zimmerman’s girlfriend claims he put his “freaking gun” in her “freaking face,” wasn’t enough, a leaked video of Samantha Scheibe’s statement to police fills in the rest of the disturbing, since-recanted details. After having him arrested for domestic violence, the 27-year-old Scheibe dropped the charges against the gun-happy Florida man, contending she was “very intimidated” by police during questioning. (“I want to be with George,” she added.) The recording shows something different.
In conversation with a calm and thorough member of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Scheibe claims Zimmerman has “episodes,” often involving firearms. In this case, she says, “He went to the rifle bag, unlocked it, immediately pulled out the first gun,” when she said she was leaving him over his anger and jealousy. “He pointed it at me for a second and said, ‘Do you really want to do this?’ because I’d told him that I was gonna call the cops,” she said.
Asked why she didn’t call the cops during a prior incident, in which Zimmerman allegedly choked her (and she hit back), Scheibe said, “Because I feel like he always gets off.”
