Providing more evidence that punching random people is not actually the favorite pastime of America’s youth, a Brooklyn man accused of hitting seven women in November and December has said nothing about the Knockout game – though that’s how the media and some community leaders explained the attacks. According to court papers, Barry Baldwin, 35, told the police that he hit six of the women, who are between the ages of 20 and 78, in “self-defense.” “I was passing by a lady using a phone and I hit her head in self-defense because of the way she looked,” he said. Baldwin claimed he gave a seventh woman a “love tap” because she almost made him spill his coffee. The 33-year-old woman fell on her 7-year-old daughter before hitting the ground. Baldwin pleaded not guilty on Wednesday and was released on bail.
