MSNBC Fires Writer of ‘Offensive’ Tweet

MSNBC’s latest bit of political-racial awkwardness has not gone well for the network. On Thursday, after the it published a story and then a tweet that suggested that those on the right wouldn’t like a Cheerios ad featuring a multiracial family, president Phil Griffin apologized directly to the Republican National Committee (which called for a boycott), and to chairman Reince Priebus by name. “We have dismissed the person responsible for the tweet,” Griffin said, calling it “offensive.” That was good enough for the RNC, which lifted its boycott.
