Anthony Weiner Swears His Wife Tells Him Nothing About Hillary Clinton

As persona non grata among Hillary Clinton’s close team of advisers, Anthony Weiner is keeping his distance. The mayoral flop told Larry King he has no “inside knowledge” of the potential campaign despite his wife Huma Abedin’s job. “She’s Hillary’s chief of staff to her transition whatever … the, you know, Hillary organization,” said Weiner in an interview to air on RT America and Hulu. Asked if Clinton will run, he insisted, “We keep kind of a firewall in our household of information like that.”

It was a much more vague response than during Weiner’s mayoral campaign, when he was asked if he knew what Abedin’s role would be in Clinton’s 2016 campaign. “I do,” he said. “I’m not telling you.” (To give an idea of how Weiner’s antics have played in Clintonland, longtime insider Doug Band “specifically requested that Mr. Weiner wait outside in the car” when Abedin visited with the couple’s son, the New York Times reported.)

I don’t have any great insight,” Weiner told King, now practicing what may become a refrain if he keeps up his television appearances. “I know that if Hillary were to run, she’d be an amazing candidate, arguably the most qualified candidate in the history of the United States ever to run for president,” said Weiner. But, he repeated, “I don’t have any great insight.” And Team Clinton nods in unison.
