North Korea, which always gets a little nuts around this time of year, fired some missiles into the Sea of Japan on Thursday without explanation. The short-range Scuds have a range of about 125 miles, meaning they could hit South Korea but not Japan, Reuters reports. But the North wasn’t aiming for either. It’s just doing the thing it always does when the U.S. and South Korean armed forces get together for their annual military exercises, which started Monday. So far, the North has been a lot more muted in its craziness than it was last year. Perhaps Kim Jong-un is too distracted by those new Yorkshire terriers at the Pyongyang zoo?
