Barbara Bush Canceled Her New York Times Subscription Because Someone’s Obituary Told Her To

Barbara Bush tells Fox News she canceled her New York Times subscription for two reasons: First, she got mad about a Maureen Dowd column complaining about the Clinton and Bush political dynasties. “I did see that and I thought, ‘Anything to make news,’” the Bush matriarch said. Then she remembered reading about somebody whose obituary (presumably this one, though she didn’t specify) asked that, instead of sending flowers, mourners cancel their New York Times subscriptions. “So I did.” That’ll show ’em.
