Wall Street Bull Finally Deemed Safe From Occupy Protesters

A week and a half ago, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said he would remove the approximately 20 barricades surrounding Wall Street’s iconic charging bull sculpture, which has been under protection since September of 2011, when Occupy protesters began threatening to “take” it (in the revolutionary sense of the word). On Tuesday afternoon, a group of NYPD officers followed through on Bratton’s promise, leaving the bronze beast free to pose with tourists and taunt activists once more.
