The body of 21-year-old Brooklyn native Elliott Mullings was recovered on Monday morning, about 20 hours after he disappeared below Lampson Falls near Clare, New York. Mullings, a third-year law enforcement student at SUNY Canton, was tubing with friends on Sunday and was “caught up in the swift current and high waters and was swept downstream,” according to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff Kevin Wells. Wells blamed the cold water and strong current, as opposed to alcohol or reckless college kid stuff, for the death.
