Duck Dynasty Relative Running for Louisiana Make-out Bandit’s Congressional Seat

Before he scandalized the nation by getting caught making out with a staffer, conservative Louisiana Representative Vance McAllister was best known for bringing one of the Duck Dynasty guys to President Obama’s 2014 State of the Union Address. So it is only appropriate that a member of the Robertson clan (that’s the Duck Dynasty dynasty) would run for McAllister’s congressional seat.

Zach Dasher, the 36-year-old nephew of Duck Dynasty “patriarch” and homophobic racist Phil Robertson, announced his candidacy for the November 4 election on Monday. “I got to looking around at the problems in politics today, and what I see in Washington, D.C., is no God. There is no God. The elite political class thinks they can be running our lives,” said Dasher. “I think there’s a vacuum in D.C. of people who understand where rights come from. Rights don’t come from men. They come from God.” And ducks. Rights come from ducks.

Dasher, who says that he has worked in the pharmaceutical and real estate industries, lacks the distinctive beard-and-bandana look preferred by his more famous kinfolk. But don’t worry — his family is “really excited” about this new venture and plans to get “involved” with the campaign. Meanwhile, McAllister, who in April said that he would not seek reelection because he wanted to focus on repairing his post-kissing-scandal marriage, recently indicated that he might try to return to Congress. Let’s hope that he and Dasher end up battling it out in a primary, if only so we can watch the attack ads.
