The NYPD is redoubling efforts to nab Rockaways guests who try to sneak in a beer under the sun. Over the Memorial Day weekend, its efforts resulted in three times more “quality-of-life violation” summonses than the same time last year. Tickets were also handed out for walking dogs on the beach and climbing out on to rock jetties, so all summer fun is apparently now illegal.
