Penn Station Reopened After Bomb Scare

Penn Station has reopened after being shut down briefly due to a bomb scare Thursday night. At around 10 p.m., a canine unit picked up a scent on an unattended package near track 15, causing the station to be evacuated and all train service at one of the city’s busiest transit hubs to be suspended. “The dog circled it twice and sat down,” a police source told the Daily News, which is apparently cause for alarm. Anyway, turns out the dog was just fooling around: Officials gave the all clear just before 11 p.m. and the station is back up and running, although residual delays are expected, naturally.
