Fans of both the U.S. and Germany could cheer this afternoon’s World Cup results. The powerhouse German squad beat the Americans 1-0 to win Group G and advance to the knockout stage. And despite the loss, the Americans advanced out of the Group of Death, too, thanks to a superior goal differential over Portugal. Daily Intelligencer sent photographers to German beer garden Zum Schneider and to Nike’s “Hall of Phenomenal” pop-up to capture the reactions of German and American supporters.
