Composting in a tiny apartment is a daunting prospect for many New Yorkers, but the city is hoping that we’ll find putting food scraps in a bin more exciting once we see Dante de Blasio do it. “Recycling food and yard waste is a lot easier than people think,” Chiara explains in a one-minute composting ad posted to the mayor’s YouTube channel on Wednesday. The family is shown cooking and cleaning in their Brooklyn kitchen, and the mayor attempts to prove recycling can be fun by shooting a watermelon rind into the bin. Mayor Bloomberg must be so pleased.
We apologize, and will immediately start a thorough review of our exhibit policies and procedures so that this does not happen again.
