Upper West Side Wordsmith Plasters Neighborhood in Creative Signs Against Dog Poop

Not everyone loves National Dog Day.

For one particularly angry New Yorker, today was a snapping point. According to neighborhood tipster Blake Lyon, the shit-covered Upper West Side has been covered with pissed-off fliers about owners who fail to clean up after their pets. But unlike your average poop-curmudgeon, this one got extra fancy with the descriptive wordplay, favoring alliteration — “brown banana,” “lincoln logs,” “butt berries” — and gross-out humor. Each poster is “brought to you by the NYC Department of Turdology.”

And for good measure, there’s a crappy art installation, including framed photos and some canned poop:

The vigilante sign-maker has a point: If we wanted to live in the presence of left-behind waste, we’d get a cat.
