19-year-old Rutgers sophomore Caitlyn Kovacs passed away early Sunday morning after attending a small party at the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, according to NJ.com.
Kovacs “appeared to be in distress” at the frat house early Sunday morning before her friends took her to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She was pronounced dead at 3:19 a.m. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, but authorities suggested it may have been alcohol-related.
”She had a lot of energy and always had a smile on her face,” a longtime friend said of Kovacs. “She was always happy and fun to be around.”
