One Portland-area Great Dane had a life-threatening addiction: He couldn’t stop eating old socks.
When he wouldn’t stop vomiting and refused to eat, his owners brought him in to a veterinary clinic, where the doctor got to work investigating what exactly was wrong. When she decided to perform surgery after an X-ray revealed weird shapes in his belly, she discovered that the dog had somehow managed to eat 43 and a half socks.
The Great Dane survived and is now happily back at home with his family, who we’ll assume can only wear sandals from now on.
