Over the weekend, Reddit CEO Yishan Wong posted a blog post called “Every Man Is Responsible For His Own Soul” (!) that attempted to condemn the actions of Reddit users disseminating the illegally obtained nude photos of celebrities while also reiterating Reddit’s commitment to free speech. Shortly thereafter, Reddit banned the subreddit primarily responsible for hosting the nude images. Redditors did … not react well to the evident hypocrisy.
Further attempts at explanation made by both Wong and Reddit system administrator “alienth” also did not go over that great. So to help better explain Reddit’s process for banning subreddits, we made you a little chart.
