Egypt May Free Jailed Al Jazeera Journalists

Jailed Al Jazeera staffers Mohamed Fahmy and Peter Greste may soon get to go home, as Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi says he is considering pardoning them under a newly issued decree allowing the repatriation of foreigners. The Canadian and Australian citizens were arrested in December (along with Egyptian producer Baher Mohamed) during a post-coup crackdown and sentenced to seven years apiece for charges of defamation and aiding the Muslim Brotherhood. Mohamed, unfortunately, is still looking at serving the remaining six years of his term.
