A Boston judge rebuffed attempts to stall Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s trial Wednesday, ruling that the accused marathon bomber had no right to a one-month delay because of last week’s terror attacks in France. The defense team had filed a motion Tuesday asking that jury selection be stopped because of potentially prejudicial similarities between the crime Tsarnaev is on trial for and the Charlie Hebdo attacks. (Like, for example, whispers of both attacks being carried out by home-grown terrorists.) Instead, district judge George O’Toole said that the preliminary questionnaires — hundreds are being considered for this high-profile group — have reaffirmed his faith in finding an impartial jury. The selection process will resume Thursday.
