Last week an Ohio bartender who worked in a country club John Boehner belongs to was indicted for making death threats against the speaker of the House. Michael Robert Hoyt, 44, described plans to shoot Boehner in an October 911 call and subsequent visit from a police officer. “Hoyt advised that he had been fired from his job at Wetherington Country Club in West Chest, Ohio, and did not have time to put something in John Boehner’s drink,” according to the criminal complaint. “Hoyt told the officer that he was Jesus Christ and that he was going to kill Boehner because Boehner was mean to him at the country club and because Boehner is responsible for Ebola.”

He’s also accused of sending Boehner’s wife multiple emails, including one that reads, “If I had any intention of hurting Mr. Boehner I could have poisoned his wine at Wetherington, many many times.” Boehner says he remembers Hoyt serving him drinks, but doesn’t recall having a negative encounter with him.

Hoyt was treated for a psychiatric illness two years ago. He agreed to go to a psychiatric hospital, and police confiscated his Beretta .380 automatic pistol.

Everything about this is sad and scary … except for the Daily News headlineORANGE IS THE NEW WHACK.”
