Danish police have arrested two men suspected of helping the gunman who opened fire at a café and a synagogue in Copenhagen over the weekend, killing two people. The Associated Press reports that a defense attorney for one of the men, Michael Juul Eriksen, said the pair were accused of hiding the suspect and disposing of a weapon. The 22-year-old Danish gunman, who was killed by a SWAT team, has yet to be named, but police say he was “well-known by the police for several criminal incidents,” including weapons offenses and violence, and was “known in connection to gangs.” The shootings were similar to the attacks in Paris last month at the newspaper Charlie Hebdo and a kosher grocery store, and Jens Madsen, head of the Danish intelligence agency PET, said the gunman “could have been inspired by the events in Paris,” or by materials issued by ISIS.
