Giuliani Clarifies That White People Made Obama Hate America

A day after declaring that President Obama doesn’t love America and “wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country,” Rudy Giuliani explained that he wasn’t sounding a racist dog whistle. It was actually a socialist dog whistle — or maybe communist? Either way, Giuliani’s clearly not racist because he thinks white people turned Obama against America. “Some people thought it was racist — I thought that was a joke, since he was brought up by a white mother, a white grandfather, went to white schools, and most of this he learned from white people,” Giuliani told the New York Times. “This isn’t racism. This is socialism or possibly anti-colonialism.”

In an interview with Bloomberg Politics, Giuliani admitted that he can’t really be sure that Obama doesn’t love the country he’s dedicated his life to leading, as he’s “not a psychiatrist.” “If I could express it more clearly, what I mean is he doesn’t express it,” Giuliani explained, adding that Obama “seeks to criticize [America], more than uplift it, and doesn’t get the notion of American exceptionalism.”

Giuliani ended the night with an appearance on Fox News, where even Megyn Kelly seemed taken aback by his comments about the president. “I’m right about this. I have no doubt about it. I do not withdraw my words,” Giuliani said. Kelly said the white people who raised Obama seem pretty patriotic, but Giuliani wasn’t impressed. “Well, his grandfather introduced him to Frank Marshall Davis, who was a communist. Okay, you can fight in World War II, and then you introduce someone to a communist … ” he said. It’s too bad there isn’t some kind of congressional committee to weed these people out, but at least we have Giuliani to tell us which political beliefs make one un-American.
