The Secret Service is slowly trying to regain our trust. A week after they prevented a drone from crashing into the White House (because it happened to hit a tree), they managed to arrest a guy who climbed a temporary bicycle rack on Pennsylvania Avenue. The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, and the man has been charged with unlawful entry. It’s unclear why he was scaling the bike rack, and the AP notes that it’s “set back from the White House fence, making it unlikely that anyone could use it to get over.” But still, this proves that the people guarding the president are at least as competent as high-school security guards.
