“It is still a little more than smoldering. It will be smoldering probably all week. Off and on we get pockets of fire. But we have the building surrounded, and we’ll maintain a presence there,” said Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro of the seven-alarm blaze that engulfed a waterfront document storage facility over the weekend. Nigro added that the FDNY still doesn’t have any idea what started the fire, as no one has been able to enter the building.
