NYPD Looking for a Guy Who Went on a Box Cutter Slashing Spree in Union Square

The NYPD is currently searching for a man who slashed three people with a box cutter late Tuesday night. The attacks took place in quick succession in and around Union Square. 

According to the police, the spree began when two men got into a fight on an uptown-bound 4 train. After punching his first victim, a 31-year-old man, and using the box cutter to slash him in the face, the assailant walked into the Union Square subway station. After exiting the station, he approached a homeless man and asked him for $2. When the 51-year-old man turned him down, the suspect also slashed him in the face before running away. 

Both victims went to Bellevue for treatment. While the cops were speaking with them, a third person arrived and said that they’d been cut at outside 10 Union Square East by what seems to have been the same person. Gothamist reports that, at some point, the guy also slapped a 20-year-old woman, “causing a physical injury.”

The suspect was described as a 20-something black man dressed in a white hoodie, a black vest, jeans, and red sneakers. Here are some surveillance stills:
