Slice Intelligence, a shopping data firm, looked at 9,080 email receipts from Apple Watch shoppers on April 10, and was able to estimate that 957,000 of the trendy new gadgets were bought on Friday. Apple sold more watches in one day than Android sold of its similar watches in a year. Sixty-two percent of customers bought the least expensive model, which costs nearly $400. In good news, so few people ordered the $10,000 gold Apple Watch that it didn’t even make a blip in the sales forecast. Pink and brown leather watchbands were among the most unloved styles. The watches start shipping on April 24.
