According to the NOAA and NASA, the first five months of this year are the hottest since records started being kept in 1880. The data put 2015 on track to be the warmest year on record — a mark currently held by 2014. In addition, Weather Underground notes that the month of May saw three billion-dollar weather disasters: the brutal heat wave in India, mass flooding in China, and the ongoing drought crisis in California and other western states. But, hey — don’t get crazy like Pope Francis and decide that we need to get serious about curbing our carbon emissions.
