Hillary Clinton Prefers Manhattan Office to Brooklyn Headquarters

In early April the Clinton campaign began leasing two floors of 1 Pierrepont Plaza in Downtown Brooklyn. In May the campaign released a video of local riffraff hobnobbing with Hillary Clinton that called her their “new neighbor.” The former secretary of State, it appeared, was moving to Brooklyn, at least for work.

Turns out that’s not true. Politico says Clinton works exclusively in Manhattan, on the 27th floor of an office building on West 45th Street. Along with its headquarters in Downtown Brooklyn, the campaign is renting out office space in midtown where the presidential candidate and a handful of staffers work regularly.

As far as scandals go, this isn’t one. It’s not even a sign that Clinton is a phony or too good for Brooklyn or anything else rabble-rousers on Twitter might have you think. At most, it represents some false advertising from the Clinton campaign, but it’s hard to get too riled up about false advertising that doesn’t benefit the candidate. Were there really people who liked her more because they thought she was working out of Brooklyn? Doubtful.

And certainly there aren’t any voters who would think Clinton is being “too cool for Brooklyn,” as Politico’s headline suggests. “Cool” is the exact opposite of what you call someone who chooses to work in Times Square.
