The New York Daily News’ editor-in-chief, Colin Myler, has resigned. Myler, who took over the Daily News in 2012 after serving as editor-in-chief of Rupert Murdoch’s scandal-felled News of the World, will be returning to his native England. “The sole reason is one that you might be well aware, Colin and his wife, Carol, are yearning to be reunited with their family and four grandchildren” in London, said Daily News owner Mort Zuckerman, who tried and failed to sell the tabloid — which, according to the New York Times, is now losing $20 million to $30 million annually — earlier this year. Executive editor Jim Rich will take over for Myler sometime around the end of 2015.
