Getting drunk is a fine way to spend one’s day off, so long as you avoid (1) endangering other people and (2) job-related activities. That’s easy enough for most people, but not MTA driver Alexander Copeland, who was allegedly caught operating a city bus with a blood-alcohol level of .20 (more than twice the legal limit) on the Northern State Parkway on Sunday. (He apparently took the vehicle from the MTA’s Jamaica Depot, despite the fact that he wasn’t supposed to be on the job that day.) CBS 2 reports that Copeland has been charged with “reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of a vehicle, aggravated DWI,” and possible work-life balance issues.
