Donald Trump has a history of insulting Iowans, as demonstrated in the latest Ted Cruz ad running in the state. First Trump is shown explaining, “I lived in New York City and Manhattan all my life, so my views are little different than if I lived in Iowa,” on Meet the Press in 1999, and then he’s seen asking, “How stupid are the people of Iowa?” at a rally in Iowa just a few weeks ago. Overall, the ad “New York Values” would be pretty damning stuff — if that phrase didn’t conjure up memories of Trump delivering such a perfect 9/11 retort that Cruz was forced to applaud. It happened less than two weeks ago, but maybe Cruz thinks the people of Iowa are too stupid to remember.
His response: a death stare… before walking off without saying a word.
