After an unsuccessful attempt to turn her husband’s sex scandal into a campaign issue, and after a series of rage tweets in which he accused her of lying about ISIS’s recruitment tactics, Donald Trump says he feels sorry for Hillary Clinton. “She’s having a tough time,” Trump told Jimmy Fallon during last night’s appearance on The Tonight Show. “She’s not doing well. She’s about tied in Iowa, she’s losing New Hampshire, which is amazing … She certainly has a race that’s a lot different than people thought.”

Being the caring, sensitive soul that he is, Trump downplayed his own involvement in Clinton’s “tough time,” saying only, “She came out with a little bit of a statement about me, and I came out with a very big statement about her and Bill, and she stopped talking about me all of a sudden.”

And is there, Fallon asks, any truth to the theory that Trump was hired by the Clintons to ensure Hillary’s victory? “I’ll set the record straight right now,” Trump said. “The newest poll came out today where I’m beating her easily and substantially, and I haven’t even started on her yet.”

This from the man who also told Fallon he considers himself “an extraordinarily handsome individual” with “a beautiful head of hair.”
