Soft-Core-Porn Star Fails to Make Transition Into Mainstream Cruz Commercial

You know what is the real soft-core porn: Rubio’s boots!

Briefly, Amy Lindsay’s acting credits included Erotic Traveler, Pleasure Zone: Volume 2, Milf, and “Attack Ad on Marco Rubio Endorsed by Ted Cruz.” Unfortunately for her, she can scratch that last one off the list: The Cruz campaign has deep-sixed the ad, formally titled “Conservatives Anonymous,” starring the soft-core-porn star, BuzzFeed reports.

The TV spot centers on a group-therapy session for conservative voters who feel betrayed by Marco Rubio for his “playing patty-cake with Chuck Schumer.” After one man testifies, Lindsay chides, “Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time,” whereupon the video cuts to Cruz. (Who, based on a story he recounts in his memoir, might have recognized her from her earlier work.)

“The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company,” Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler told BuzzFeed in a statement. “Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad.” Lindsay has also appeared in a variety of mainstream TV shows, including episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, Silk Stockings, and Pacific Blue.

Lindsay herself turns out to be not just a working-stiff actress but a partisan Republican. She told BuzzFeed that her appearance could have helped widen the image of the Cruz base. “Then it’s not just some old, white Christian bigot … People want to say, ‘It could be, maybe, a cool kind of open-minded woman like me.’” She said she’d been undecided about whether to support Cruz or Trump, but her Twitter feed Friday suggests she’s made up her mind.

In related news, Jenna Jameson, a former Clinton supporter, has endorsed Marco Rubio for president.
