A miracle season put Leicester City on the verge of clinching an improbable championship in England’s Barclays Premier League on Sunday, and though their tie with Manchester United postponed the celebration, they officially clinched the title Monday when second-place Tottenham earned only a draw in its game against Chelsea. Leicester City, which just two seasons ago was playing in English soccer’s second tier, was given 5,000-to-1 odds to win it all before the season. (After all, English soccer is dominated by just a small handful of powerhouse teams.) But in a season in which virtually everything went their way, Leicester City has now claimed its first top-flight English soccer title in its 132-year history, with two games still remaining.

Tottenham needed a win yesterday to stay in the title hunt, and it nearly delayed Leicester City’s title even further. But a Chelsea goal in the 83rd minute evened the game at 2–2, and after a heated finish, that score held. The Leicester City players had gathered at star Jamie Vardy’s house to watch that game, and after the final whistle, left back Christian Fuchs uploaded this video of the team’s wild celebration. Clinching a title on another team’s draw may be a little anticlimactic, but they don’t seem to mind.
