New Jersey governor Chris Christie broke ranks with Donald Trump’s other top allies this morning and refused to defend the candidate for bragging about groping women. He didn’t, however, back down from supporting Trump.

“That kind of talk and conversation even in private is just unacceptable,” he said on Boomer & Carton, a sports talk-radio show on WFAN. “I was really disturbed and disappointed by it and embarrassed for him and his family.”

When asked if Trump’s remarks have caused him to waver in his support, Christie said, “This election is about bigger issues,” and that Trump’s admission to grabbing women may be gross, but “I don’t think it’s the only way you should make a judgment.”
