Children with Broadway aspirations (or at least show-tune fever) flock to TADA! Youth Theater, whether they're looking to write a musical, perform it onstage, or simply sit in the audience. Professional directors and choreographers—which have included the likes of Eric Rockwell, a creator of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! and Tracy Bonner, a former USO choreographer—work with a cast of children for the company's mainstage productions, which take place in a 110-seat theater on the second floor. And though the actors range in age from 8 to 18, you never know when you'll see the next star of stage or screen. (Ricki Lake and Nickelodeon's Josh Peck are alums.) Meanwhile, classes and workshops offered throughout the year teach acting, singing, dancing, and playwriting. The results? Three lighthearted, original musicals each year, performed by children, for children.
