Boasting one of the highest and most spectacular views in the park, Belvedere Castle sits atop Vista Rock and overlooks the Delacorte Theater, the Great Lawn and Turtle Pond. The structure itself cuts an awesome figure with its strong stone façade, grand turret and flag. Home to the Henry Luce Nature Observatory, the Castle attracts both visitors and local meteorologists out to take the city’s temperature—which explains the very modern looking equipment perched on this Victorian wonder.
