Flushing Meadows Park has a lot going on, between the tennis center, the Hall of Science, the Queens Zoo, and all that space for picnicking. It includes so much that one very well might cruise past the park’s modest mini-golf and pitch-and-putt courses, located at its northeast corner. But this spot—the only fully lit course in the city—is not to be missed, especially for families and intermediate golfers. All of the par-3 holes on the walking pitch-and-putt course are between 40 and 80 yards, which makes them a good place to practice your short game. (Casual golfers don’t need to worry about bringing clubs; rentals are available.) The eighteen fully lit mini-golf holes feature all the staples of putt-putt (bridges, waterfalls, etc.) and you can round out your laid-back afternoon (or night) with a hotdog and beer from the concession stand.
