Brooke Baxter hates when people call her space a "music venue." So what if the small gutted warehouse has hosted concerts by Karen O and Thurston Moore. Put simply, Glasslands is a place of "experiential" artistry, an ever-changing installation where artist friends like Seth Ludman, Coco, and Tunde Adebimpe keep the walls covered with dreamy murals or fashion sculptures from ribbon, string, and bits of junk lying around. The only constants are two vinyl booths, a stage, and a ramshackle staircase which, if the crowd hits 250, directs the overflow to a balcony with a low-slung couch and a railing of welded bike parts. It's that kind of space.
