This storefront gallery is an unexpected diversion on boutique-happy Smith Street. (Did anyone truly expect to find a community center for the arts in a retail district?) Since 1986, locally minded, married duo William and Kathleen Laziza have booked installations and performance pieces here, in addition to renting out rehearsal space. While the gallery name is a bit of a misnomer, the Micro Museum does have an impressive archive of digital and video art, not to mention a collection of rare symphonic recordings on 78 rpm—donated from the Met and spun on request. Stop by on Saturdays for gallery exhibitions and indie performances.
