At the Brooklyn Bridge Park's recently opened Pier 5, there are netted-in sports fields, two playgrounds, designated fishing areas and bait-prep tables, and a “picnic peninsula” with big, beautiful salvaged-wood tables shaded by brilliant blue umbrellas.
