The old lady bartenders who once kept East Chinatown's few remaining Bowery bums company are long gone, and their bar is now a neighborhood "nightclub." But the musty, brick-walled space still has that certain je ne sais quoi that screams "basement!", with the pool table providing a rec-room vibe. During weekend parties, a fresh, mixed crowd steams up the windows. When you need a break, take a seat on the bench in front of the bottom-feeder-friendly fish tank. — Ken Miller

169 Bar provides me with a great place to drink. Not only that, i made some new friends there. Cool ambience and nice music. If you are a tourist and you like a place to feel at home, you gotta go to this place but make sure you blend in nicely. People there are nice. Drinks are reasonably priced. Very cool pool table.

this is a good place to chill when you are living in the neighborhood... the week end concerts are cool enought to go there, or even to play pool in the back .
