This venue is closed. Diamond in the rough 507 is a bar-restaurant and private-party house where the familiar Williamsburg diet of PBR and rotgut gives way to Corona and tequila. Despite the hilariously ineffective “No Dancing” sign that overlooks 507’s generous floor space, one couldn’t possibly find a better place for Friday night reggaeton in the general vicinity. It remains one of the few neighborhood venues where you can find rarities like a coat check, a doorman, and a posted dress code. The bar itself is a good-sized unit best used as a party space, whether the occasion in question is a Girls’ Night Out or a birthday (yes, they do have package deals). Its decorative theme hews to the literal bare-walls minimalist model, but this place isn’t about visual frills.
