Named after outlaw Wild Bill’s infamous last hand, this UES homage to the Old West hangs yellow lanterns over the bar and horseshoes on the red walls in an effort to lasso in the frontier. But as the Shut Up and Drink posters evidence, everyone comes to sling shots, not guns, décor be damned. Indeed, the good-natured thirtysomethings, far from renegades, appear thankful their wives have let them out to watch the game or huddle over a nudie video game. Eventually though, these guys look about as out of place as the leftover Halloween skeleton dangling near the booze year round. At 9pm, younger cowpokes take over (and pass over the pretty young things in denim mini-skirts) for a rowdy beer pong scene, while AC/DC and Pearl Jam play on the jukebox.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
