Profile
Those accustomed to cramped comedy clubs may experience agoraphobia when they enter this renovated Strawberry Fields supermarket. Amid the limestone floors, plasma TVs, and two lounges (one equipped with a copper bar) in the 5,000-square-foot showroom, Comix promises to bring the likes of David Spade, Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffin, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. They’ll need that level of talent if they hope to fill the 300 seats with $5-and-up cover prices. Meanwhile, the kitchen doles out fancy American grub. — Daniel Maurer

Laughter is a dish best served at Comix

Overall Rating: 9 (Highly Recommended)
As a comedian, producer, and general audience member, I have the unique perspective of looking at Comix from both the stage and the seats. Here is what I really like about this nightclub.
Laughter is something everyone can enjoy, so there is a lot of diversity which I love. I also like the fact that I can order a la carte or pre pay for a dining package, I'm a big fan of choice and the options they have, from appetizers to main courses, are plenty. I recommend the pikilia, as I am a big fan of greek food, as well as the buffalo wings.
Best of all, the club is located in the Meatpacking District and has something for everyone: a main bar for the happy hour crowd, a downstairs lounge for fans of intimacy in public places, and the main showroom, for people who enjoy laughing. Overall, I feel this club has earned the distinction of being named the best comedy nightclub in the city and provides great food, excellent service, and a beautiful space to enjoy the finer things in life.
