Given that this small spot is owned by the folks behind The Library, Nice Guy Eddie�s, Vasmay, and Julep, it�s not surprising that the generous 2-for-1 happy hour extends until 10 p.m., or that more than one patron has taken a whirl on the bartop stripper pole while sporting the house Viking helmet. But don�t get the wrong idea: Because it�s located on the fringes of the Lower East Side next to the Masaryk Towers housing projects, few weekend warriors venture here, leaving the Victorian couches and tattered bar stools blessedly free for a diverse mix of locals seeking games of Clue or Operation over punch-packing bottled beers like Flying Dog, Rogue, and Lindemans. During �you kill it, we grill it� Mondays, the smell of lighter fluid wafts from the sidewalk hibachi and through the open floor-to-ceiling windows, while on metal Thursdays, the lofted D.J. booth� where friends of the bartenders spin records, C.D.�s, and MP3s� becomes an altar of Satan worship. Rest assured it�s not all meat-eating and head-banging: Every two months, a new local art exhibit graces the brick walls. — Daniel Maurer
