With its walls of canary-yellow paint and bright brick, this cheerful cubbyhole of a wine bar would be incongruous among the neighboring sports bars and dives if the management team behind Chelsea Grill hadn't endowed it with the heart of a pub. Theater-going drop-ins and loyal locals alike sidle up to the wide granite bar or gather at a few high tables by the glass storefront while an open kitchen in the back of the room prepares platters of cheese, flatbreads, paninis, salads, and seasonal items. Those intimidated by wine lists will breathe easy with this international roster skewing towards the affordable and the Italian. Better yet, the bartenders are just as at ease tapping European brews like  Grimbergen as they are serving one of the more than two dozen vintages by the glass. — Julia Langbein
