The Chelsea-in-the-Hamptons trend reversed when the perennial East End hot spot Star Lounge took over the space under the Chelsea Hotel formerly occupied by Serena. Owners Charles Ferri and Vekrum Kaushik enlisted designer Heidar Sedeki to give the two rooms a respectively modern and classical feel. House-hip-hop D.J.'s Cassidy, D Nice, and Sky Nellor spin for a strictly guest-list crowd. — Daniel Maurer

Showed for the "opening weekend" this weekend and I was pretty disappointed. I thought the space was pretty cool (low ceilings, dark, small) which gives in an "underground" dirty feel that I love. However there were never more than 20 ppl in the club (no really, couldn't have been more than 20) and it was all old ugly dudes. The music was bad (Jeez, I really need to hear "world hold on" for the fifth time tonight), and everyone left by 2 am.
Too bad b/c I really like the spot in Wainscot…
hope it is run better than the hamptons
