The company behind the original Ainsworth sports bar has a similar goal at Ainsworth Park: to turn the act of watching a football game into a stylish event rather than a sloppy one. Sixty-five TVs are mounted in a long line just below the high ceiling, where undulating wooden planks provide an element of sleek decoration. The several spacious rooms have the colorful lighting of a nightclub and large flower arrangements, and patrons can watch the game from stools with leather seats and backs. Drinks are not particularly innovative, but are well-made with noticeably fresh ingredients. The best bet for a cocktail is the Offsuit, a simple and refreshing mix of Ketel One, Grand Marnier, and cucumber juice; it’s best sipped on the outdoor patio in warm weather.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
